Name Inspiration:

Derived from the Latin term "Credo," meaning "I Believe," our Credo Shiraz epitomizes our winemakers' unwavering belief in crafting an elegant, ever-graceful wine that rivals the world's finest. It is a testament to our commitment to excellence and passion for winemaking.

The Vineyards:

Sourced from select vineyards in the Helderberg and Stellenbosch areas, our Shiraz grapes are nurtured to perfection under the South African sun. Handpicked at the peak of ripeness in the third week of March, they embody the essence of the terroir.

The Winemaking Process:

A symphony of traditional and innovative techniques, our Shiraz undergoes a meticulous transformation. After handpicking, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks for 10 days, with three days of cold soaking both prior to and after fermentation on the skins to extract maximum flavor. Meanwhile, the Viognier is fermented in French oak barrels. Aging for 26 months in 300-liter French oak barrels, with 90% first fill and 10% second fill, ensures optimal development. Barrel selection ensures only the finest barrels are chosen. Lightly filtered before bottling, our Shiraz is a testament to meticulous craftsmanship.

Winemaker's Comments:

A rich ruby red hue with garnet edges heralds an enchanting sensory experience. Flavors of violets, white and black pepper, and subtle liquorice dance on the palate, while the dense, smooth mid-palate imparts richness and texture to the wine.

Maturation Potential:

While delightful to enjoy now, our Credo Shiraz boasts a maturation potential of 5 to 8 years, promising continued refinement with age.
